Elesa Zehndorfer graduated from Loughborough University in 2006 with a PhD in Sport/Exercise Science.

She was inspired to keep writing after being a features writer and sports editor of Label magazine during her time at Loughborough. Elesa currently runs an independent publishing house Blackheath Publishing, that focuses on books with a high educational, scientific or cultural value.

Her company recently released a sports-related ebook named 'Rewind' which is a story of a cross-Atlantic adventure by two neuroscientists who pushed aside their very stressful consulting jobs to escape to a life on the ocean. The book was inspired by a captain's log that the sailors wrote while at sea. Rewind opens with an inspiring foreword by Jovina Choo OLY, Double Southeast Asian Games Gold Medallist, Asian Sailing Champion, and Singaporean Olympian in the 470 class (Rio 2016).

Elesa said: “I think that the many sportspeople amongst the Loughborough alumni might love it! The book is, in summary, a really inspirational, fun, light and engaging read.”

The book takes the reader through their journey from planning an Atlantic crossing, to their experiences at sea, and their eventual reintegration back into life on land, back at their desks. There are some moving, inspiring and fun moments in the book, with some wonderful reflections in its concluding pages.
