Loughborough Business School recognises four people with Distinguished Alumni Awards

Each year, Loughborough Business School (LB) honours a select group with the Distinguished Alumni Award. At the end of 2023, four people were recognised with awards for their work spanning themes such as retail, communications, ecommerce, and climate tech.

The awards are given to people who demonstrate outstanding inspiration, merit, achievement or commitment in a particular role, or who’ve made a difference through their contribution to society, education, knowledge or research.

Here are the recipients for 2023.

Andrew Clarke (BSc Retail Management 1996) is President of Mars Snacking. He oversees the world’s most iconic portfolio of snack brands. Andrew has held several leadership positions across the Mars business, including stints in Europe, Latin America and North America (global CMO) before becoming President of Mars Snacking in Chicago. LB were pleased to award him in recognition of his outstanding career and leadership of a global retail business.

Jane Fordham (BA (Hons) European Business and French 1998) is Hanbury Strategy’s Head of People, a Partner and Board Member with responsibility for attracting and retaining Hanbury team members and driving culture for this fast-growth public affairs and communications consultancy. Jane oversees a team of 120 in London and Brussels known for high performance, client excellence and an unfailing commitment to company values. She was awarded in recognition of her outstanding career in communications and driving change within organisations.

Dalraj Nijjar (BSc Management Sciences 2017) is Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Concrete4Change – a United Nations award-winning start-up on a mission to remove 2 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions in the concrete industry by 2040. Concrete4Change is developing a technology for the mineralisation of CO2 into concrete, making concrete cheaper, stronger and greener, turning one of the world’s biggest emission problems into an emission solution. His award recognises his extraordinary achievement leading a climate-tech company in his early career.

Finally, Adelina Zotta (BSc International Business 2017), who is on the Forbes 30 under 30 Retail & Ecommerce list, has been acknowledged for her extraordinary achievement in ecommerce and the pet industry in her early career. Her pet store, NutriPaw, is a marketplace for dog supplements in the form of dog treats, additives and health supplies. The pet store currently stocks ten products which concentrate on different areas of health and maintenance.
