A brand-new network for Indian alumni living in London held its first event on 17 January at the Loughborough University London campus.

Alumni who have studied at either of our campuses who are originally from India were invited to network with students at the London campus.

The group heard from Dean of LU London, Professor Tony Edwards, and they were met by members of staff from London’s Future Space team, and the University’s Alumni Engagement team.

Alumni and students enjoyed getting to know one another and took part in some team building activities!

A student took photographs at the event – all part of the community feel of the evening.

Our newly appointed International Alumni Ambassador representing India in London, Bobby Chouksey, was also in attendance. She studied MSc International Management and graduated in February 2023.

She will soon start working as a business analyst. Talking about her experience of her time at the University, she said:

"My experience was great, the professors are very helpful and feels that Future Space really helps you by putting on networking events with alumni and current students and feels it is really key."

One alumnus, Vipul Londhe, did an MSc in Sport Marketing at Loughborough University London. He now works for Stream 7 and London Seaward FC. Vipul’s experiences at university helped him to network. He was speaking to current students and sharing these experiences and advice. He said:

“The biggest thing Loughborough helped me with was networking.  My advice though would be that networking events shouldn't be a sales pitch. Use them to just get to know people, find your mutual interests and connections.”
