We are all protagonists - a film by a recent chemistry graduate

A picture of 4 people running in what looks like a desert

Alumna Tilly Gomperts Willis has directed and produced a film about a team that ran a 340-mile relay race, ‘The Speed Project’, from LA to Las Vegas. She was one of the runners herself.

Tilly graduated from Loughborough with a BSc in Chemistry in 2021. She partook in many activities during her time at Loughborough such as being a member of the Athletics Club and creating the Nice Running society to encourage students to run in a synergetic manner.

Since she graduated, she has worked on many projects that revolve around running and how to break the stereotype associated with who can contribute. She is a freelancer and has been consulting with brands, race organisers and agencies to better understand different running communities and how to support them.

Some of runners that featured in the film were an elite ultra-marathon runner, the deputy mayor of NYC, and a first-time runner. The main focus of the film was about collective strength and the importance of challenging stereotypes.

The film has premiered in London at The Castle Cinema, and it went live on Salomon TV.

Congratulations Tilly and well done!
