Mary Earps wins the England Women’s Player of the Year award

Alumna Mary Earps has been named England Player of the Year - voted for by Lionesses fans - for her spectacular performance in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Earps is also nominated for the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award for the second year, having won the award in 2022. 

Mary played a crucial role for England during the FIFA Women’s World Cup, becoming a national hero by saving the day on more than one occasion, making it to the final against Spain and saving an impressive penalty. She was awarded FIFA’s Golden Glove award for her performance throughout the tournament.

Earps has 41 caps for England, with 16 gained during the last year.

Having graduated with a BSC in Information Management and Business studies in 2016, Earps has pursued her dreams in professional football and has overcome many challenges and has achieved so much since.
