Alumnus' star performance recognised at RAF Brize Norton Awards

Ryan Connor receives RAF Brize Norton Award

Last month, Flying Officer Ryan Connor - a member of 99 Squadron who operate the C-17 Globemaster aircraft from RAF Brize Norton - was awarded the Flight Lieutenant David Lord VC DFC Memorial Award at Brize’s Recognition Awards for Valued and Outstanding Service.

Fg Off Connor has been granted this award based on his managerial performance and ability to fix technical issues which lead the C-17 fleet to meet its busy operational commitment. This award is usually given to the individual or team, who through their actions, have made a single outstanding contribution to the output of the Station during the year.

Serving personnel, civil servants and contractors at RAF Brize Norton were nominated in one of ten categories which highlight the breadth and diversity of the achievements of personnel at the RAF’s largest base. The event recognises those whose commitment and devotion make a positive difference to the Station and to the wider community. The nominees were put forward by their colleagues and members of the community and all have made an outstanding contribution to RAF Brize Norton.

Ryan graduated from the University in 2021 with a BEng in Systems Engineering and immediately pursued his career in the RAF.

Congratulations, Fg Off Connor.
