Creative drama alumnus shares insight into his career in the theatre industry

Lewis Wood graduated from Loughborough with a Drama degree in 2016. Since leaving the University, the alumnus has continued to pursue a career in theatre.

Lewis currently workin Development at Sadler Wells, one of the world’s leading dance and theatre organisations. He works as the Corporate Partnerships Manager for the company. 

When talking about how Loughborough helped shape his career he said: 

My time at Loughborough helped me develop knowledge of the theatre industry and its functions, as well as vital communication and interpersonal skills to help me on my journey.” 

In addition to his busy schedule at Sadler Wells, Lewis also works as a playwright. His most recent project ‘Bones’ has recently been announced at The Park Theatre in London and will be running from 5-22 July. The show Bonescombines Rugby and Theatre and follows protagonist Ed, a rugby player, and his journey through the hardships and pressures of the sport in a dynamic and bold display of physical theatre 

Lewis began writing whilst at university in one of his modules run by Dr Carolyn Scott-Jeffs. Since graduating, he has worked in performance and script reading at many different organisations including the Royal Court, Broken Silence Theatre, Paines Plough, and the Peckham Fringe
