Dr Leanne King graduated with a PhD in Chemistry in 2010 and continued with post doctoral research at the University. She went on to build a career with Boots in the science innovation team where she worked on formulating products and developing innovative technologies.

After becoming a mother, she decided to build her own beauty brand, Beauty Favours.  The main focus of her brand is sustainability. She has developed a range of solid shampoo bars that are vegan friendly and leaping bunny certified – a standard for products which demonstrates compassion for animals.

Leanne uses unique formulas in her products with a mix of very specific ingredients such as mild cleansers, organic oils and actives that help to moisturise and condition both the hair and scalp.

Beauty Favours recently won the SME Midlands Enterprise Awards, as well as Best Cruelty Free Shampoo Bar Company 2023 - London in the Business Elite Awards. The company became finalist in the  sustainability category of the Business Women’s Awards.

Leanne has launched two new products: the Purple shampoo bar, designed for blonde and silver hair with special ingredients to help keep the hair moisturised and control the pigments to counteract brassy tones, and a fresh scented Dead Sea Salts shampoo bar which is rich in minerals and beneficial for both hair and scalp. Beauty Favours is proud to offer shampoo bars that are beneficial to the hair and scalp, and that are also ecofriendly.

Well done, Leanne!
