Indian Achievers Honours Celebrating 75 at 75

The search is on to find 75 young Indian high achievers from the UK Higher Education community.

Launched by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK (NISAU UK) in association with the British Council in India, the India UK Achievers honours aimto celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indias Independence and India-UK educational ties. 

The achievers selected will be former or current Indian students in the UK, who have excellence in their field, inspired and encouraged others to dream and achieve. The awards will recognise success across five different categories:  

  • Business and entrepreneurship 

  • Education, Science and Innovation 

  • Arts, Culture, Entertainment and Sports 

  • Government, politics, law and society 

  • Media and Journalism 

Winners will be celebrated at a gala event to be held at the British High Commissioner’s Residence in Delhi in December. Those successful will also benefit from enhanced PR, press and profile-raising campaigns that will run during 2023.  

Speaking at the awards launch event held at the House of Commons in London last week, Sanam Arora, chairperson and founder of NISAU UK said: “In this 75th anniversary year of Indian independence and the 10th anniversary of NISAU our aim is to celebrate the achievements of Indian students and alumni and inspire future generations of learners to use their global education to contribute to nation building in India and for the wider global good.”  

Entry for the honours awards can be by self-nomination or on behalf of someone. More information about the categories, eligibility and how to submit applications can be found on the awards website. The deadline for submission is 10 November 2022.
