They kept in touch over the following summer and eventually met back in Loughborough for their first date at the Cheesecake Shop.
Daniel proposed in September 2019 at Yosemite National Park. Eventually, after what Sarah describes as a “rollercoaster of emotions” with Covid-19 restrictions, the alumni wed on 6 August 2021.
While restrictions meant that their ceremony could be attended by only a small number of friends and family, the wedding was celebrated by numerous Loughborough alumni, including Daniel’s best man Marcus Naylor (MEng Automotive Engineering).
The alumni recall their fond memories of Loughborough, stating: “It not only prepared us for our future careers but gave us the opportunity to make friends for life and meet our soul mate."
