Supporting elite athletes with innovation in sportswear

Exosuit is a sportwear brand co-founded in 2018 by alumnus Chris Peploe.

The concept is that sportswear should do more than just cover the skin. It should work with an athlete’s body with the overall aim of improving athletic performance and preventing injury.

The brand includes unique patented PowerFlex Technology that applies flexible support across specific joints or muscles, interacting gently with the skin to stabilise, engage the subconscious brain, and set the body in a powerful position to perform.

With a client base already including 24 elite athletes across 5 different sports, the company is currently in discussion with several elite level clubs regarding strategic partnerships.

The summer will see retail products released for the first time and the launch of a bespoke and custom fit garment service with an NFL athlete as the first customer.

Chris spent nine years at Loughborough.  He studied for a BSc in Sports Technology and went on to complete his PhD in Sports Technology and Biomechanics.

Chris comments: ‘I have always had a passion for research, utilising technology in sport and I am pleased to combine them in my current role to bring innovation to sportswear and support elite athletes in the process.”
