The company, that overall employs a total of 10 alumni, traditionally provide AV services, bespoke software and custom build items for conferences, exhibitions, festivals, and experiential marketing events. As the events industry has been heavily impacted by the pandemic, the company has quickly diversified.
The design and build team, led by alumnus Simon Monk, have gone from creating custom exhibition stands to manufacturing work, including products made from sustainable materials. They have created several items which are being sold in the online store TheHomePatch on Etsy. Items for sale include standing desks, monitor risers and laptop stands.
Another alumnus, Chris Rann, manages the team of in-house electricians who previously provided power to festivals and conferences, but now have been carrying out domestic installations in the local area including electrical vehicle charging installations.
The software development team, headed up by alumnus, Oli Folkard, have built a fully customisable virtual events platform Videoflex. The bespoke platform creates a virtual venue for clients’ audiences to watch live broadcasts, view on-demand content and engage with each other. The extensive networking features include round table video chats, virtual exhibitor booths and audience polling.
The company’s technical solutions team have built an in-house broadcast studio with virtual gallery spaces, allowing them to host presenters either physically or remotely and then broadcast to the new virtual events platform. The studio is fully equipped with remote-operated cameras, lighting, and green screen technology. Several events have been hosted from this facility over the last six months.
