Originally planned for 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic, the group were determined to reunite in style this year once restrictions were eased in the UK.
Tony Stevens, reunion organiser, said:
“Members of the group had represented the University in either football or rugby during our time as students. Five members brought their wives along. We had previously had 3 lunches together in London and had decided to go to Loughborough for our 50th anniversary. The alumni association kindly helped me track down 2 of this group.”
The group of alumni enjoyed a round of golf and also had a tour of the Loughborough campus during their visit. They stayed on-campus at the Burleigh Court hotel.
