Maddie, who wins the award for the second consecutive year, was one of three international goalkeepers shortlisted for the prize.
In 2017, Maddie played key roles in England’s bronze medal wins at the EuroHockey Championships and World League Semi-Final.
She received the 2016 award after saving all four penalties in the Olympic final shootout against the Netherlands, securing Team GB’s Olympic Gold at Rio.
Maddie was also awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2017.
She graduated from Loughborough in 2013 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science
