Health and fitness

We have two state-of-the-art gyms at either end of our campus. Both offer free 1-2-1 support, a wide range of fitness classes, access to our Olympic swimming pool and a UNIversal gym membership. With large cardio and strength & conditioning areas, whatever your fitness goal there is something for you. As well as our gyms, across campus we have 5 recreational parks which are free spaces to get active and play without the need to book.

Hall sports

You can represent your hall of residence in over 30 sports, through both leagues and one day events, in the largest student-led hall sport programme in the UK (IMS – Intramural Sport). A diverse range of sports from football to ultimate frisbee and tug of war are included, and hall sport is entirely free. IMS is a fantastic way to get involved in sports, especially in your first year at University although the programme remains open to all University students.

Society sport

With a timetable of events across the year these fun, sociable leagues are a great way to meet like-minded people. You can represent a society in a variety of sports for a chance to claim the annual trophy.

Social sport

You can enter leagues in groups representing your department, society and as a group of friends in mixed basketball, mixed netball and men’s and women’s football.
