Women's Hockey

Women’s Hockey at Loughborough has a great reputation for producing many international players, but also cater to all abilities across our different squads. There are many recreational options on offer, so you enjoy playing at a less competitive level.

Performance

Our first team competes in the top flight for both the University and regular national club competitions - England Hockey Investec Premier League and BUCS National Premier League - placing them in the top ten teams in the country.

The programme is renowned for the level of support it can offer. The aim of the support ‘team behind the team’ is to create an environment that develops individuals to their maximum potential using the University's world class facilities, whilst preparing them for life after Loughborough. These support roles include a full-time Coach, Strength and Conditioning coaches, Physiotherapist, Nutritionist, Sports Psychology support, along with Performance Analysis and lifestyle support coaches. We are also able to provide scholarships for our top performing athletes.

Athletic Union Club

In addition to the first team, we have another four teams who compete at University and National level, so there is a team to suit every ability. Our club provides high quality training to all five teams with top level coaches and state of the art facilities.

How to join

For more information on how to join our club, come and visit us at the Loughborough University Sports Bazaar on campus on Saturday 30th September 2023.

Hall Sport (IMS)

We encourage you to compete in hockey for your halls of residence in IMS competitions held throughout the year. You compete in teams against other halls, and these competitions are always great fun.

My Lifestyle

Hockey is also available through the My Lifestyle initiative, where you can give the sport a go and have loads of fun at the same time.
