How to apply

Find out everything you need to know about applying to study with us as an exchange or visiting student.

Exchange students

  1. Discuss your exchange options with your home university’s study abroad office and follow their selection procedure.
  2. Your home university will contact us to nominate you as an exchange student.
  3. We will email you with further information regarding our application process.
  4. When you have completed all application documents, please return your completed application to sbe.international@lboro.ac.uk.
  5. Our Academic Exchange Co-ordinator will check your module choices and either approve them or offer advice on their suitability.
  6. Once your application is approved, we will forward your application documents to the University’s Academic Registry to be processed.
  7. You should be contacted by the Academic Registry to confirm your official enrolment at Loughborough University, at which point you will receive your unique student number.

Visiting students

Visiting student applications are managed by the University’s Admissions Office.

  1. Download the visiting student application form.
  2. Your home university’s exchange co-ordinator can help you complete your learning agreement, and must also sign it.
  3. Return your completed application documents to sbe.international@lboro.ac.uk.
  4. Our Academic Exchange Co-ordinator will check your module choices and either approve them or offer advice on their suitability.
  5. Once your application is approved, we will forward your application documents to the University’s Admissions Office to be processed.
  6. You should be contacted by the Academic Registry to confirm your official enrolment at Loughborough University, at which point you will receive your unique student number.

English language requirements

To be accepted as a visiting student you must have a qualification in English language, whether or not your first language is English.

You must have an IELTS (or equivalent) score of at least 6.5 overall, with no less than 6 in any component.
