This page shows the qualifications accepted by Loughborough University for entry into our undergraduate programmes.
Students applying for an Undergraduate course at Loughborough University will require a Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho (Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate) plus one year's further study (a foundation or bridging qualification). One year further study could also include completion of your first year at a Japanese university.
In addition, the University will condsider the following qualifications:
- A-levels. Full details of entry requirements from A-levels can be found in the undergraduate prospectus. Entry grades will vary from course to course.
- International Baccalaureate. International Baccalaureate: Applicants with the full IB Diploma will be considered for direct admissions to undergraduate degree programmes. Please see the undergraduate prospectus for specific course entry requirements.
- Loughborough has its own International Foundation Course offering progression to Loughborough University subject areas.
- The International Office can also suggest other suitable foundation programmes which will be considered for entry to other subject areas.

Candidates must also achieve the University's English language requirements.
