Apply now for PhD opportunities with funding

The University is delighted to offer a range of studentships offering full or partial funding. Starting in 2016, these opportunities include funding to cover some/all of your tuition fees, with some projects including additional funding for living costs and/or course costs including training.

A research degree, a PhD, EngD or MPhil, involves a substantial project in which you will make a significant original contribution to knowledge in a subject. It is one of the highest academic qualifications you can attain and takes three years, full time, to complete.

Students undertake a PhD for a variety of reasons; some are passionate about their subject and want to discover something entirely new then a research degree will provide that opportunity, others are seeking the skills a PhD develops, such as problem solving, communicating complicated ideas and project management.
