Below are the Entry Requirements for students from Egypt wishing to study at Loughborough University.
Students who have studied the Thanaweya A’ama (Certificate of General Secondary Education) will need complete a suitable Foundation Year.
Loughborough University has its own Foundation Year for high-calibre international students who have successfully completed 12 years of school education. Alternatively, please contact the International Office to check if the Foundation Programme that you are considering taking is acceptable for entry.
Students with A Level or IB qualifications will be considered for direct entry to undergraduate degree courses. Please see the undergraduate prospectus for specific course requirements. Requirements for American SATs and APs can be found under the country requirements for USA.
All students must also achieve the University’s English language requirements.
Loughborough University would be looking for a GPA between 2.7 and 3.2 from an Egyptian Bachelor degree or, a minimum of a good second class (2.2) honours from a UK Bachelor degree. Applicants with relevant professional qualifications or, applicants with an advanced diploma and relevant work experience may also be considered.
Entry requirements may differ for each course, applicants should therefore review the Postgraduate Prospectus for further details of appropriate subject requirements. Some schools may offer concessions from higher ranking institutions.
Candidates must also achieve the University’s English Language Requirements. The standard University IELTS requirement is a grade of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component. For students who do not obtain the required score, pre-sessional English Language courses are available.
