Graduating from Leeds Beckett University in 2000 with a BSc in Multimedia Technology, Dave has worked for the better part of the last 20 years in the creative industries and is currently Head of Digital for an advertising agency on the edge of Birmingham.
Between 2016 and 2018 he undertook a master’s degree in Psychology at Coventry University. His MSc dissertation investigated charitable giving in the context of the web.
Continuing where his dissertation left off, Dave’s research investigates effective charitable donating with specific emphasis on the effective altruism movement. Its aim is to explore the characteristics of rational and emotional giving.
He is interested in all aspects of modern philanthropy, digital technology, and how people make use (and sense) of the web.
