Criminology BSc (Hons)

Develop a detailed understanding of the causes of crime and classic and contemporary approaches to crime prevention, as well as the impact of social policy on problems such as poverty, inequality and social exclusion.

Criminology and Sociology BSc (Hons)

Gain a detailed understanding of crime, its causes and prevention and a broader knowledge of how societies are shaped by social forces relating to power, discrimination and inequality.

Sociology BSc (Hons)

Learn the theories and methods needed to understand how individual identities, behaviours and lives are shaped by the processes and structures that give rise to exclusion and inequity in modern society.

Our foundation courses

Social Sciences with a Foundation Year

Primarily for candidates who have not studied the pre-requisite subjects needed for first year entry, not met their expected entrance requirements due to adverse situations, a mature student returning to education or a care leaver.

Social Sciences with an International Foundation Year

Designed for high-calibre international students who have not studied the pre-requisite subjects needed for first year entry or those that have successfully completed 12 years of school education, and need an extra year of study.
