The awards ceremony took place at the King Power Stadium, recognising the regional businesses, innovations and individuals which have changed, or are about to change, the way we live.
Loughborough University’s research and innovation activities achieved nine awards across seven of the ten categories, as well as the overall Innovator of the Year and a Special Recognition Award.
Sociology BSc graduates Ottavio and Dario Tanzillo were winners of the Innovation in Education category as well as finalists in the Innovation in Health and Wellbeing and University Student Innovation categories.
Ottavio and Dario established Tanzii TV to inspire and encourage children to stay active, as well as to help boosting activity levels and wellbeing by connecting with communities. To date the qualified coaches have engaged over 630,000 children and young people and are based in LU Inc. the University’s incubator on Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park.
Ottavio said “We are both delighted to have won this prestigious award! Our brain break videos are a perfect way to improve children’s physical and mental wellbeing whilst having lots of FUN.”
Dario said “Our mission is to make mindfulness and movement an essential part of the day and knowing our delivery is making a positive change to our society means the world.”
