Discover Politics and International Studies at Loughborough University
Attending one of our applicant visit days is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for life and study at Loughborough University - and find out what makes Politics and International Studies special from the people who know best: our staff and students!
About the days
Our applicant visit days are exclusive events for offer holders and you will receive your personal invitation to attend by email. Different to a University Open Day, the visit day is focused on the Subject Area and gives you the chance to find out more about the course you have applied for, while getting a sense of what it's like to be a Loughborough student.
An overall amazing day, tour guide was knowledgeable and seemed very confident. Accomodation was suitable to my needs and the whole experience has made me more determined to come to Loughborough.
2020 Visit Days
Our Visit Days represent a good opportunity for you to experience POLIS life and to get to know current students and staff better.
During the day, you will be introduced to the School of Social Science and Humanities, as well as Politics and International Studies subject group, to see how you and your studies fit in.
The main focus of the day, however, is on our degrees and your classroom experience. We will run sample lectures and seminars for the PPE, Politics and IR, and History degrees allowing you to gain first-hand experience of what our first year teaching feels like.
We will send you a seminar worksheet one week before the Visit Day to give you a sneak preview of the seminar and to allow you to do some preparatory work.
Throughout the day, teaching staff will be there to answer any questions you might have about our range of degree programmes; and our current students will also be available for you to chat to about their own student experience. The Visit Day will end with an informal time for you to ask any questions you may have.
Itineraries for upcoming Visit Days are below. You will also receive an email reminder including a link to the itinerary.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
