Loughborough Experience Hub

Drop into the Pilkington Library to chat to staff from our incredible student support services teams. Staff from the Student Accommodation Centre, Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity, the Disability Sport Team, Careers Network, Chaplaincy, the Library, the Security Team and our Student Advice and Support Service will all be available throughout the day.

Fees and financial support

A basic introductory talk on the student finance system for UK students living in England including the application process and accessing loans, grants and Loughborough University bursaries.

Disability, mental health and wellbeing

Information and advice for applicants with long term health conditions, dyslexia and other specific learning differences, sensory impairments, mental health concerns, autistic spectrum conditions and physical disabilities hoping to study with us. The team will also have a stand in our Loughborough Experience Hub in the Pilkington Library.

Careers and Student Enterprise

We provide career coaching, employer events and tailored on-demand resources, as well as dedicated support for setting up a business available from the Loughborough Enterprise Network.  

Our Careers Network also delivers the Student Success Academy, providing a structured programme designed to support students’ personal, academic, and professional development throughout their time at Loughborough. Through a series of targeted workshops, resources, and activities, the Academy helps students build confidence, develop essential skills, and successfully navigate key transition points, from arriving at university and moving in and out of placement experiences, through to graduation.

LU Arts

LU Arts is our extra-curricular arts programme. This gives you plenty of opportunities to enjoy and/or get involved in the arts during your time at Loughborough. Our programme covers a wide range of art forms from pottery, painting and creative writing to music, dance and drama. Events include live performances, workshops, artist talks, discussion events, exhibitions and more. Whether you want to enjoy performances by others, develop your existing talents or learn a new skill, there is something for you.

3D Immersive Wall Experience

Explore how immersive 3D visualisation is used in Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering to review vehicle layouts at full scale, assess driver and passenger ergonomics, and understand the packaging challenges created by electrification. These tools also support product design, manufacturing, transport and human factors, helping students and researchers evaluate ideas before physical prototypes are built.

3D Immersive Wall Experience

See Geography and Geomorphology brought to life through immersive 3D models of landscapes, terrain and environmental change. The demonstration will also highlight how large-scale 3D visualisation can support subjects including environmental science, architecture and the built environment, archaeology, biosciences, and engineering, making complex research and data easier to explore, understand and share.

Robotics Demonstration

Explore how computer science use Linux based systems with cutting edge robotics to control and program different actions. The team will demonstrate various forms such as a unitree robotic dog and our AI based chatbot using a local LLM.

Immersive Learning Experience

In this hands-on experience, you will have the opportunity to try out some of the cutting-edge VR technology we are already deploying in our teaching, for instance to prototype products and user-experiences, or to create new test forms of artistic expression.
