Our campus is just two miles from junction 23 of the M1 motorway and there are clear signposts on all the other main approach roads to Loughborough.

If you’re using a SatNav you can use the postcode LE11 3GR ('Holywell Car Park') to reach the campus. This will take you to our West Entrance where you will be met by members of our Security and Parking Team who will direct you to available parking on campus.      

We have a number of car parks on campus and so you may not end up parking in Holywell Car Park itself. The what3words reference for the West Entrance is #oils.corn.lasts.

Coach and bus services to and from other parts of Leicestershire and the UK have stops in Loughborough town centre and outside campus.

You can travel by National Express, Megabus or regional bus services to and from Loughborough.

Regular services operate between Loughborough and other main line towns, including daily trains to and from London St Pancras International in as little as 1 hour 16 minutes.

You may be able to buy a combined train and bus ticket which incorporates the bus journey to and from the railway station. Just select Loughborough University Bus (XLO) when booking on websites such as The Trainline and East Midlands Railway.

Taxis are also usually available at the station.

East Midlands Airport is only 7 miles away and offers both domestic and international flights.

Skylink offers fast 24-hour bus travel to and from East Midlands Airport.

Parking at open days

Parking on campus for Open Day visitors is free of charge. Once you've parked up, you don't need to do anything else except get on and enjoy your Open Day! You can ignore the parking payment signs in our car parks as these don't apply during the Open Day.

Event parking at our Open Days is primarily located on the west side of campus (postcode: LE11 3GR) where our large Holywell Car Park and our multi-storey Car Park 1 are located. 

You will be directed to an available parking bay by our Security Team when you arrive. Depending on the volume of visitors we may use other nearby car parks for Open Day guests as well.

We recommend pinning the location of your car on your Google Maps app to easily find your car at the end of the day!

Parking is free of charge at our Open Days – you can just park up and enjoy your day.

For Blue Badge holders, we have dedicated disabled access bays located across campus you are welcome to use. Please display your Blue Badge if you park in a disabled access space. 

If you are interested in a subject area located in West Park (see table below) you should follow the instructions for our main event parking as these car parks are close to event venues and have a number of disabled parking bays available. 

If you are interested in one of our subject areas located in East Park (see table below) you can enter campus via our east entrance (postcode: LE11 3TU) and park in one of the smaller car parks located closer to the buildings you need during your visit. Alternatively, you can use our main event parking on west and travel to east park on our free shuttle bus service which will run throughout the day.

Open day bus service

You can hop on and off the buses as often as you like – they are free to use throughout the day. All the buses have a drop-floor and are accessible for wheelchair users and prams.

Make sure you check the front of the bus (or ask your driver!) as some of the buses will continuously loop around campus all day whilst others will also travel into town and to the train station.

Walking times

Between West Park Teaching Hub (11) and the Edward Barnsley Building (119) is about a 30 minute walk. You'll find directional signage and our amazing Team Loughborough Directions Team across the route to help you find your way, wherever you need to get to!
