Albert King

I wish to follow in the steps of the previous chairs and more. Focusing on the relationship between the committee and the hall, ensuring smooth operation on top of a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment for the hall.
I wish to keep things simple, effective and organised so the committee can work together efficiently so that freshers and current residents can enjoy themselves as well as feeling part of the community.

Freya Roberts

As The Holt’s current vice chair/treasurer, and previous Media & Stash Rep, I have an experienced understanding of the inner workings of the committee, and am already comfortable handling the pressure and responsibility of the role. My experience in event planning/promotion, finance management and communicating with other sections of the committee means that I know how to organise a range of interesting, fun events that can be enjoyed by all of The Holt’s residents. I am dedicated to continuing my existing work with The Holt committee, working to keep it an amazing place to live, taking on board suggestions from both residents and committee to create an environment where everyone can have a great time in their time at The Holt.

Jenny Chi

I am applying to become your hall Social Sec. Voting me ensures that there will be as many opportunities to interact with each other by allowing for more connections within the Holt. Whether you are seeking new hall mates or wanting to participate in an activity with friends I will ensure there is something provided that can accomodate all situations. I believe that the people within this hall should have a say on what is done. For example having themes or activities suggested by you. Although we are one of the smallest halls among them all I believe that we can still have some of the best oppurtunites to connect.

I believe strongly in promoting a culture where sport is enjoyed but also keeping the competitive nature and striving to succeed. Being part of the 1s football team and currently coaching the football team I am aware of challenges it takes in running a team. My aim is to try to get participation rates in holt up and get regular training for most sports.

Maria Faustina Troncone

I will showcase life at The Holt with energy, clarity and creativity, capturing events throughout the academic year in a way that feels engaging and authentic. I’ll keep our community informed through clear, consistent updates across social media, making sure information is accurate and easy to find. I’ll frame the best of The Holt, its spaces, its people, its atmosphere, so that future students can see why this is a place worth choosing.
I will also design merchandise that genuinely represents The Holt, not just logos on hoodies, but pieces that feel thoughtful, visually appealing, and rooted in our identity as a community. My aim is to create designs people actually want to wear clean, modern, and reflective of what makes The Holt unique.

Action Representative

Jacky Yuen

I have a lot of prior experience in this field due to being the boarding captain at my former boarding school. I have also been the head organizer for a number of online charity events online with dozens of volunteers to raise money for the Immunodeficiency foundation. I go to many action events and volunteer personally and believe it's something that is enjoyable and gratifying. With the busy term time in spring, there won't be much time to ask for volunteers, but I still believe it is valuable for those studying to go outside and take a break and increase productivity.

Welfare & Diversity Representative

Supports the wellbeing and inclusion of Hall members. Key duties include signposting students to relevant University and LSU welfare services, promoting University, LSU, and Hall welfare and diversity campaigns, ensuring equal representation and inclusivity for all students, attending Welfare & Diversity Rep section meetings, and planning and delivering Welfare activities.

Morgan Ashley

Welfare and Diversity is key to my everyday life as a member of the LGBTQ community. However I recognise and seek to support those who fit into other demographics as much as my own.I plan to support and direct Holt residents towards societies, SU and University Events and schemes that may help them feel more involved within similar groups to help them feel more integrated and secure in their community at Loughborough. I plan to also help do the same for directing towards schemes and services that will help with their mental health. As someone who has taken advantage of these services I have personally experienced the positive impacts they provide and would love the chance to help support other Holt members access them too.

I’m known to be a positive, empathetic and efficient person which I believe are key factors in why I’m fit for the role. I’d love to host frequent, chill Welfare events for our accommodation such as watch alongs to popular shows, and movies as well as craft events and game nights to try and bring together our community as a whole.

Reece Simister

My aim as welfare is to ensure that all students are aware of different types of support that the can get and hope to help everyone feel more comfortable to look for help or advice from the committee. I’ll do this by trying to plan more events in the common room that’s welcome to anyone.

Societies Representative

Key duties include: promoting societies events to Hall members, supporting at Winterfest and the Activities Bazaar, signposting Hall members to relevant societies of interest within LSU and attending Societies training and meetings.

Gregory O'Keeffe

Hi, I’m currently in the Holt as a first year with plans to be here next year as I like the accommodation a lot. I believe I am a great fit for the societies rep because I am in 2 societies currently (hiking and mountaineering) so I understand what a good society looks like. I will aim to increase collaboration between societies and the Holt through new taster sessions, events and competitions as who doesn’t love a prize 👀 There are so many societies available to choose but I will be here to be to help you discover which societies match your interests the most to create a more welcoming and inclusive Holt 🦌
