Meet employers

At Loughborough there are many opportunities to meet employers at Careers Fairs and one off events such as employer presentations, skills sessions and 'drop-ins'. Meeting employers on campus is a good way to explore a range of career options in an informal environment. Talk directly to recruiters, and hear about their career stories and insider advice. They are often Loughborough graduates themselves!

Employer presentations, workshops and drop-ins

Employer presentations, workshops and 'drop-ins' take place throughout the year but weeks 1-7 of semester 1 and the first few weeks of semester 2 are the busiest periods. At this time there is often an employer event on every day of the week - in fact, there's often several on each day!

The employer events list will be updated weekly with the fortnight's schedule, so make sure to check here regularly in the Autumn Term.

Wednesday 14 November, The British School of Kuwait, Presentation, D002 James France, 6.30 – 9.00pm

Tuesday 20 November,, Drop In (promoting the Engineering Recruitment Event), West Park Teaching Hub Foyer, 11.00am – 4.00pm

Wednesday 21 November, Rolls Royce, Skills Session, CC0.29a James France, 2.00 – 3.30pm

Making the most of careers fairs

From small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to corporations with offices around the world, a range of employers attend our careers fairs. These events present the opportunity to network informally with employers to find out as much as possible about the different career paths you may want to explore.

Careers fairs are open to all students and a mixture of employers offering placements and graduate roles are present. Remember that about two thirds of employers will be open to recruiting students from any course of study, so don't assume that your degree won't be relevant and keep your options open.

Attend careers fairs to:

  • Learn more about what opportunities are available and what employers look for
  • Meet employers and recent graduates and build your professional network
  • Find out about recruitment processes
  • Be noticed and get a head start in your applications

Further advice on making the most of a careers fair is in the following PDF:

Find out more information about our careers fairs below. Each entry will be updated with current information closer to the fair dates.

The Spring Fair is the sister event to the main Autumn Fair. It has similar employers in attendance but is generally smaller in size, and is a second opportunity to find out more about companies still seeking to fill placement and graduate roles. At the 2018 Spring Fair we were joined by over 100 companies on campus, with big corporates such as: Unilever; PwC; Lloyds Banking; Aldi; Airbus and GE!

April 2018, 11am-3pm
James France Exhibition Area

In the past this fair has been aimed at first year students who want to “get ahead of the game” and start preparing for placement applications early. In 2017 we widened the focus to include graduate, internship and vacation work employers too, so whatever year group you are in come down and find out more about the opportunities available.
