I returned to halls for Towers’ catering and the short walk to lectures.

Students here agree that Towers dining hall is the best dining hall by far – the chefs are great and menus change regularly. Lots of students in other halls choose to come here at lunch time too.

It was easy to feel at home on campus. After my first year in Towers, I moved to Rutherford hall to be share a flat with my mates who were also returning to halls, which was also amazing. Rutherford is great due to its central location. Its in the middle of everything and surrounded by other halls, and I love that.

Our Rutherford sub-warden is great and knows almost everyone here. He encourages us to socialise with other students in hall activities and helps in promoting a great environment here. It’s exactly the right gentle push you need if you’re feeling a little down.

Shared bathrooms? No Problem.

I was a bit concerned initially with regards to shared bathrooms but once I moved in, they never really bothered me.

I was quite lucky with my flatmates as they were not too messy, though I think most people have the same experience as me - I've not heard anyone complaining. As long as you are willing to adjust slightly (by essentially being tidier!) it’s not really a problem.

The cleaning lady we have has been great too. She loves to have a conversation whenever she sees us, and we love talking to her.

I chose to study at Loughborough as it is one of the best in the world for my course automotive engineering. Living in accommodation on campus it’s incredibly useful being close to lectures and not having to travel in from town every time. Being able to return to halls throughout my studies also helped me in finding lifelong friends.
