Login and reserve your room
Room reservation takes place on 14-15 August on a staggered basis. This gives everyone a fair chance to reserve their preferred accommodation.
We allocate a proportional number of room types in every hall for each time slot. So, no matter what time slot you have, you will have the same choice of rooms.
The system does get very busy and rooms are reserved quickly so we do advise you to login at the start of your time slot.
Our room allocation process also means we can make sure there is a balance of gender, course and year in each hall. This helps make them the amazing communities that they are.
You need to:
If you cannot see your first choice room, you will need to select something from the rooms available. The room reservation system is a live system and all available options will be visible.
What happens if my first choice room is not available?

We only have a certain number of different room types and these are split equally across the different time slots. It does not matter which time slot you have, you will have the same choice of rooms. Every one of our halls has a brilliant reputation and its own identity. The community spirit in our halls of residence is unrivalled by any UK university. No matter which hall you live in, you will create some of the best memories of your time at Loughborough.
Why are the time slots based on subject and gender?
At Loughborough we like to consider our halls of residences as communities so we ensure a balance of gender, course, and year in each hall. Our allocation system prevents too many students who share the same course or gender from being allocated to the same hall.
Can I submit room preferences rather than reserving one?
You do also have the option to just submit room preferences instead of reserving a room. However, room preference does not give you a better chance and could mean you miss out of the opportunity to reserve alternative room choices. We allocate accommodation offers to those who room preference after those who have reserved a room and so the available options will become more limited.
