Profile
I was born and raised in Kenya within the Kalenjin community, a region renowned for producing some of the world’s greatest distance runners. Growing up around elite athletes sparked my fascination with the relationship between human performance and footwear technology. Over time, I became increasingly aware that while East African athletes continue to dominate long-distance running, they remain largely underrepresented in the design and development of the footwear they use. My research is therefore driven by a desire to help bridge the gap between athletes and the engineering teams creating performance footwear, ensuring that athlete insight and scientific innovation work more closely together.
