Textile Intersections is a two-day conference and three-day exhibition of works organised by the Textile Design Research Group at Loughborough University in collaboration with Royal College of Art and Imperial College London.

The conference was led by Tincuta Heinzel from Loughborough University in conjunction with Rebecca Stewart (Imperial College London) and Sara Robertson (Royal College of Art). Focussing on four themes of textiles and architecture, textiles and interactions, textile materialities processes, and critical textiles we are interested in topics related to connections and cross- or interdisciplinary collaborations furthering research in the field of textiles and textile design. What is the nature of collaborations textiles are susceptible to establish with other disciplines and which are the outgrowths for each discipline? How are these collaborations initiated? What makes a successful collaboration leading to innovative research? What are the issues? Why collaborate?
