Jon Sutton

Jon Sutton is a product/industrial designer with over 30 years domestic/commercial design consultancy practice experience working in project sectors such as domestic appliance, defence, military, life support, transport, communication and leisure.

Jon graduated with a BA in Design Technology from Loughborough University and followed this with an MA in Industrial Design (Engineering) from De Montfort University. He also holds a PGCE in Design Education and has experience of design teaching in secondary education.

Working predominantly in a design consultancy environment from graduate designer to design director/partner, Jon has engaged in both national and international project activities spanning a client base including: Boeing, Dera, Dualit, UK MOD, US Air Force, Intertechnique - France, B&Q, Conran Design Group, Vax, Royal Mail, Sainsbury’s and Gentex to name a few. His abilities are in design conception and innovation through to manufactured product solutions – ‘blank sheet of paper to product in a box’ which reflects the wealth of his experience, knowledge and skill base.

Jon joined the Loughborough Design School as a ‘Teacher in Design Practice’ in 2017 and is now a ‘Senior Teaching Fellow’.
