Jem is a University Teacher in Graphic Design. She has long been associated with Creative Arts at Loughborough, having graduated from the Illustration course in 2005 and being part of its teaching provision since then – feeding into modules across the degree and delivering lectures for Part C.

Outside of her teaching commitments Jem is a UX consultant, currently working in the field of AI assisted digital products and is the Product Strategist for a California based start-up. Prior to this role Jem was a Design Director in New York for digital product design agency Free Association, and before that she was the Creative Director for London based digital experience agency AllofUs.

Before she joined the world of digital design in 2010 she honed her craft as an illustrator with a weekly commission with the Independent newspaper for their politics opinion column, and regular work from a variety of print publications.
