Jem is a University Teacher in Graphic Design. She has long been associated with Creative Arts at Loughborough, having graduated from the Illustration course in 2005 and been part of its teaching provision in various freelance capacities until her integration as a University Teacher in 2023.
Jem is focused on Part C – delivering seminars, lectures, and studio sessions in both semesters. In the 25/26 academic year, she will also be taking on the duties of co-module leader for the final major project module.
Outside of her teaching commitments, Jem is a UX consultant currently working in the field of AI-assisted digital products and e-commerce. Before that, Jem was an Experience Director in New York for the digital product design agency Free Association, and before her stint stateside, she served as the Creative Director for the London-based digital experience agency AllofUs. In her career, Jem has worked with numerous prominent organizations, including Google, Toyota Research Institute, The British Museum, BBC, Channel 4, and Beyoncé!
Prior to joining the world of digital design in 2010, she honed her craft as an illustrator, earning a weekly commission from the Independent newspaper for their politics opinion column, regular work from a variety of print publications, and several awards.
