Semih graduated from the Graphic Design department at Kutahya Dumlupinar University Faculty of Fine Arts, Turkey. Following on from his undergraduate interest in poster design Semih completed MA Graphic Design, also at the same university. While he was working as a graphic designer in the university, He received the Turkish Governmental Scholarship for Postgraduate Education in the United Kingdom. In 2018, He graduated from University of Southampton Winchester School of Art in MA Communication Design. He is also co-founder of “Posterland.org” International Social Poster Project which is one of the biggest international poster design activism platforms.

Title of thesis: The Poster: a tool for social change.

The poster, which appeals to the masses visually and is accepted as one of the useful communication tools, has gone through a long process to arrive at its present form. The research examines how the poster has changed and will continue to do so, past present and future. Also, the research aims impact on social awareness through poster design.
