I have been a practising and community artist for over 20 years, exhibiting and selling my work nationally and internationally as well as designing and delivering community art projects for galleries/museums, charities and private organisations. During this time I retrained as a teacher and became Head of Fine Art at a sixth form college for several years. I recently left full-time teaching to concentrate on my art practice, which has led to a practice-based PhD at Loughborough University's School of Design and Creative Arts.

Thesis Title: Life Drawing - The Artfulness of Non-Human Trace

My research investigates drawing through trace. It is an inquiry into the artfulness of non-human agency without human control and asks how can trace of non-human agency be a consideration for drawing?
