Museum: Stilled Life. 2

In the museum the vessels sit juxtaposed in myriad still life compositions. Glass, light, shadow and reflection create ill defined layered planes. My view is nebulous, it is a mercurial collage of objects, my attention is held, I am captivated, I am stilled.

The drawing is an archive of my encounter. A slow repetitive act of making. A push and pull between graphite and newsprint. Lines drawn, erased, redrawn and, where I have pressed too hard linger embossed ghosts. A delicate subtle withdrawal. Vessels of multi linear imprecision appear, leaving a distilled after-image.
