Kate Steenhauer and Maria Sappho

Maria (Improviser) and Kate (Visual Artist) are an interdisciplinary duo who work with political and social issues. Together we collaborated on Painting Music, a production which uses artificial intelligence to create music from live-painted drawing; and In the bell, an audio-visual work exploring themes of gender, identity, and sexuality through live-evolvingpainting and music in response to intimate verbatim by 3 womxn. Project The making of a feminist captures a figure struggle towards embracing feminism within the global catastrophe. In quarantine Kate used for the first-time herself as life-model. 100 Selfies evolve with sound composition enhancing the lockdown domesticity commenting on the associations of so-called women’s chores.
