Nhung Vu is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance since July 2020, with extensive work experience in both academia and industry. Prior to her appointment, she worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow for two years, as a Lecturer in Accounting and Auditing at the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City for five years, and as an Auditor and Tax Senior Consultant at KPMG Limited in Vietnam for three years.
Her degrees were sponsored by various scholarships, including Vietnamese Government Scholarship (Project 322) and University of Glasgow College of Social Sciences Scholarship. She holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Glasgow, and further degrees in Banking and Finance from Bangor University (with Distinction, MSc) and Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (BEc).
She has published papers in the Journal of International Money and Finance.

- The effectiveness of internal control systems on bank lending activities in Vietnam, funded by Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2015 (£1,000).
- The effectiveness of operational performance of commercial banks in Vietnam, funded by Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2014 (£1,000).
- Foreign currency lending in the commercial banks for the de-dollarization in Vietnam to 2015: the features and solutions, funded by The State Bank of Vietnam in 2013 (£6,000).
She is interested in a wide range of research topics on corporate governance and corporate finance, focusing on bank lending and risk-taking, credit ratings, cash holdings, corporate social responsibility (CSR), innovation and corporate environmental impact.
The key theme of her research is to investigate how corporate outcomes and firms value change when they are faced with a range of challenges such as financial concerns, management, climate change, and regulations.
Nhung is a member of the Financial Management Association International (FMA).
She previously held a scholarship for 'Corporate Governance and the Effectiveness of Boards' summer school at University of Groningen, Netherlands (July 2019).
