Destina is a Lecturer in International Business, Strategy and Innovation at Loughborough Business School. Prior to her appointment, she was a Lecturer in Business and Management at De Montfort University, where she led and taught on several undergraduate and postgraduate modules.

Destina’s research lies in the area of innovation and strategy with interest in open and collaborative innovation, innovation capabilities, and global innovation networks. Her research work has been published in Research Policy, a leading journal in the field of innovation studies.

Destina is the Module Leader for 'Management Analysis' (postgraduate module).

Destina is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI).

Destina’s research interest is in the following areas:

  • firm strategic capabilities
  • open and collaborative innovation
  • product and service innovation
  • global innovation networks.

She explores these interests in the context of service firms and SMEs using quantitative research techniques. She is currently exploring the role of international knowledge networks in fostering innovation capabilities of SMEs in emerging markets.

Destina acts as a reviewer for Research Policy, Journal of Management & Organization, and European Journal of Innovation Management.
