The UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (UK SCALE) Centre, part of the internationally renowned MIT Global SCALE Network, has launched the Supply Chain Futures Forum – a new industry collaboration network designed to help senior supply chain leaders tackle today’s most complex operational and strategic challenges.

Delivered through the UK SCALE Centre and based at Loughborough University, the Forum creates a structured, reflective space for senior leaders to step back from day-to-day pressures, challenge their supply chain strategy and explore new approaches alongside peers and experts. It brings together industry, academia and global research expertise to support organisations in strengthening resilience, accelerating capability development and making better, evidence-based decisions in an increasingly uncertain environment.

The Supply Chain Futures Forum has been created in response to growing demand from organisations seeking not just advice, but structured time and expert mechanisms to test and refine their supply chain strategy without committing to large-scale consultancy programmes or adding internal complexity.

Membership provides organisations with access to expert guidance, applied research and peer-level challenge, enabling leaders to rigorously stress-test priorities, accelerate strategic change and balance productivity, resilience and sustainability.

Jemma Jackson, Business Development Manager at the UK SCALE Centre, said:

“Many organisations know where they need to improve but lack the time or capacity to step back and work through complex supply chain challenges in a structured way. The Supply Chain Futures Forum is designed to bridge that gap – offering targeted expert support, applied research and a trusted peer network that helps leaders make progress quickly and confidently.”

Forum members receive a combination of tailored expert input, student-led applied capstone projects, executive learning opportunities and access to a programme of exclusive events and roundtables. This includes senior-level networking forums, research briefings from the MIT Global SCALE Network, and invitations to flagship UK SCALE events such as the Annual Symposium and Discovery Week.

A distinctive feature of the Forum is its structured approach to peer challenge and co-creation. Members are encouraged to bring live strategic questions into the room sharing challenges, testing assumptions and shaping discussion topics that reflect real-world complexity across sectors.

Professor Jan Godsell, Director of the UK SCALE Centre and Dean of Loughborough Business School, added:

“Senior supply chain leaders rarely have the time or space to step back and rigorously challenge their strategy. The Supply Chain Futures Forum is designed to create that space a reflective and supportive environment where leaders can share experience, stress-test their thinking and refine their priorities with access to global insight and peer challenge.

By combining leading-edge research with real-world dialogue, we are helping organisations strengthen their supply chain strategy and build the next generation of supply chain leadership.”

The Forum builds on the UK SCALE Centre’s established role as the UK node of the MIT Global SCALE Network and its mission to connect industry, academia and government to address shared supply chain challenges.

Membership to the Supply Chain Futures Forum is offered on an invite-only basis, with a limited number of Founder Memberships available.

Organisations interested in learning more are encouraged to contact the UK SCALE Centre to discuss membership opportunities.
