Work with our students

Infuse your organisation with fresh ideas and energy through student projects, placements and internships.

Whether it’s a pressing task you need to progress or a role that needs to be filled, we can provide enthusiastic, high calibre students to work with you on placements, projects and internships.

At Loughborough Business School, we’re proud of our long-standing placements which have been a stand-out part of our programmes now for 30 years. For you as a business, it means a ready-made pipeline of enthusiastic trainees who are keen to put the latest theories into practice, and share new ideas and energy to support your continued evolution and growth.

Take on one of our undergraduate students for six months or a year, work with a master’s student on a consultancy project, or engage an MBA student on an internship. We can talk through the options with you and help you access the skills and talent you need.

Undergraduate placements

Offer a six or 12 month placement to one of our students to add a new injection of ideas or energy into your business.

  • Use a placement to trial and assess performance and potential, with a view to future recruitment.
  • Benefit from high calibre, enthusiastic students who’ve received the latest research-led and commercially relevant training in sustainable business models and frameworks.
  • Around a third of our students are offered a graduate job by their placement employer.

Our experienced Placements Office and academic placement visits give you and your student the support you need before, during and after the placement.

Master's projects

Work with a Loughborough master’s student on a consultancy project to address a particular issue you’re facing or help implement a new way of working.

  • Our master’s students can be put to work on a project you don’t have the resource or skills to tackle in-house.
  • A commercial consultancy project is a chance for them to tackle real-life problems using the latest tools and techniques learned on their programme.
  • You get an enthusiastic member of staff and practical solutions to issues that will enhance the way you work.

MBA projects

Engage a group of our MBA students on a bespoke live project to help them realise their ambitions and support innovation that’s relevant to you.

  • The Managing Innovation module on our MBA gives students the chance to work on live projects alongside innovation partners and plan a strategy for developing something new.
  • Students also have access to the advice of a range of start-up business experts and present their strategies to the company directors.
  • While you’re inspiring students to realise their goals, you’ll also be benefitting from new ideas and the latest tools and models to support your organisation’s growth.

MBA internships

Use an MBA internship as a cost effective way to recruit a skilled MBA student to tackle one-off projects, manage change or implement smarter ways of working.

  • An MBA internship is an excellent way to attract international talent to your organisation.
  • MBA students can bring fresh ideas to help you complete projects, particularly in areas where you don’t currently have resource or expertise.
  • MBA students can provide low-cost consultancy to your organisation and help develop projects in areas such as business analytics, project management and innovation, social media marketing, staff development, business development, marketing and new product research, to name a few.
