Guide to qualifications
As indicated on the degree descriptions, our respective courses are offered as various qualifications - MSc and MA, PGDip or PGCert. These could also be referred to as levels of learning or award. Those qualifications are characterised by the amount of modules that you will complete as part of your programme.
Master of Science (MSc) and Master of Arts (MA) - 9 modules
Our MSc & MA programmes consist of nine modules. You will study core modules (15 credits each) and choose an additional optional module (15 credits) plus the 60-credit Research Dissertation module.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) – 8 modules
Our Diploma courses consist of eight 15-credit subject-specific modules. You will study core modules and choose an additional optional module.
Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) – 4 modules
Our Certificate programmes consist of four 15-credit subject-specific modules. This option is ideal should you wish to learn a specific set of skills and do not have the time to undertake an extended programme.
Postgraduate Certificate programmes may also be considered as an entry point for study at MSc or MA level if you do not have the normally recognised entry qualifications.
Individual modules can also be studied as non-award courses, here referred to as professional development (PD). PD courses may be considered as alternative entry requirement to the courses bearing above qualifications.
