Revolutionising Rehabilitation at the Royal Society

It was a great privilege to be selected for the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition in July 2023.

Selected for the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition

The Royal Society is the oldest national scientific society in the world and Summer Science is the longest running flagship public engagement event showcasing cutting edge UK science.

Our week-long interactive exhibit brought thousands of visitors, from the across the UK and beyond closer to the science being pioneered through the National Rehabilitation Centre.

We live streamed interviews, demonstrations, and a sofa chat about how muscles can be bioengineered in the lab to reach an even larger global audience.

Roma Agrawal and Fran Scott meet rehabilitation experts at the Summer Science Exhibition 2023 to find out what axolotls can teach us about rehabilitation and how, in the future, muscle tissue could be lab-grown and transplanted back into patients.
