Case study 3

Hydrogen Production and Release

Sandie Dann is a materials chemist who researches the controlled and safe release of hydrogen from metal hydrides by understanding structure-property relationships.

The current focus is the use of waste materials/recycling processes for hydrogen generation and reactor design for safe hydrolysis/thermolysis of hydrides that meet the DoE requirements for hydrogen storage. Extensive characterisation takes place using local and central facilities.
