Andrew Cooper

Andrew has a European Research Council studentship. He is working on modelling and experiments with a Micro-Comb laser, to improve control and understanding of the system.

His publications include:

Debayan Das

Debayan Das

Debayan is investigating optical frequency combs in micro-resonators or 'microcombs'. He is studying their dynamics, which includes the observation of their formation and subsequent interactions both experimentally and theoretically.

His publications include:

Jordan McConnell

Jordan McConnell

Jordan is exploring real-time control of high-power emissions in miniaturised ultrafast lasers (micro-combs) via machine learning.

Abhishek Paul

Abhishek Paul

Abhishek previously studied at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali.

Aadithya Suresh

Aadithya Suresh

Aadithya completed her Masters degree at the Central University of Kerala, and is now focusing on nonlinear optics.

Akash Dominic Thomas

Akash Dominic Thomas

Akash graduated (MSc Science, 2023) from the Central University of Kerala, India. His research interest is Terahertz science, particularly the interplay of imaging and AI. His research background - developed at the Indian Institute of Technology - involves exploring phase control in coherent beam-combining systems, utilising cutting-edge machine-learning algorithms. His current research - primarily funded by the Leverhulme Trust - is developing a 3D Hyperspectral Imager.

Our alumni

Some of our Doctoral students have already successfully completed their PhD.

We are proud of their achievements and wish them all the very best as they move on with their careers.

Vivek Kumar

As part of his doctoral thesis research, Vivek is investigating Terahertz wave control in scattering media for imaging and focusing applications. He receives a studentship from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.
