Battery-Electrolyser Team wins innovation award from Hydrogen Scotland

Battery-Electrolyser team holding their Innovation Award 2025 from Hydrogen Scotland

CREST’s Battery-Electrolyser Team has won the Stewart Dow Innovation Award 2025 from Hydrogen Scotland at their dinner and award ceremony in Glasgow on Tuesday 28 October. The award was collected by Dr John Barton on behalf of Jonathan Wilson, Dani Strickland and the rest of the team.

The team are building battery-electrolysers that do two roles in the one device: supporting solar powered microgrids and producing hydrogen for clean cooking. The systems are being deployed at Loughborough University, Malawi, Zambia, and Côte D’Ivoire, funded by three projects: the East Midlands Freeport, MESCH, and LoCEL-H2.
