Dr Gemma Witcomb

I am a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, a mother, and a feminist.

My research has delved into extremely varied fields, all connected by the theme of gender, gendered identities, and gendered roles; from cognitive impacts of restrained eating in young women, breastfeeding (hence the knitted boob!) and parental feeding practices, gender identities and wellbeing, experiences of harassment, and more recently to menopause, body image, and mental health. Thus, my research has very much mirrored my growth as a woman and my outputs will help other women, which to me is what makes it so exciting.
