Support for students

We are here to support you throughout your university experience.

Loughborough University is committed to creating a vibrant, safe and respectful campus for all our students. We are taking forward several initiatives to challenge inequity and our campus operates a zero-tolerance policy on discriminatory behaviour of any kind.

Student services provide a range of services to support you during your time with us. This includes support on mental health, bullying and hate incidents, policies, careers, and accommodation.

Student Services

Reporting

The reporting tool allows you to report to the University incidents of domestic violence, bullying and harassment, stalking, hate incidents, safeguarding, sexual violence, mental health and wellbeing, substance misuse and any other welfare concerns.

BAME Support

There are number of support avenues available for BAME students. This includes Wellbeing support, dedicated Careers Support, and advice regarding finance, housing, and visas & immigration.

Mental Wellbeing Team

The University’s Mental Wellbeing Team are here to support you with any concerns you may have about your mental health, wellbeing, and barriers to education.

Disability Support Team

The Disability Support Team is here to support students with disabilities. Emphasis is placed on working with students to develop practical support and strategies to enable them to deal with obstacles they may encounter during their studies.

Student Advice and Support Service

This service provides free, confidential and impartial advice on matters related to your time at university, including financing, housing and international student support.

LGBT+ support

Our campus operates a strict zero tolerance policy on anti LGBT+ behaviour. Across the University and Students’ Union there are a variety of ways to access support if you do identify as LGBT+ or if you are questioning your sexuality or gender identity.

Trans and Non-binary Support and Advice Service

The aim of the service is to ensure that transgender and non-binary students who may need additional support are able to access this during their time at Loughborough University.

Community Wardens

Our team of Wardens are here to help and support students living off-campus. They offer a full pastoral service to any student living in Loughborough who may be facing difficulty within the local community.

Loughborough Students' Union Welfare and Diversity

LSU Welfare and Diversity are here to support students wellbeing during their time at Loughborough. They also support and empower diverse and underrepresented student groups, ensuring they have a voice within LSU and University.

Loughborough Students Union Nightline

This is a confidential, non-advisory listening and information service run for students by a trained group of student volunteers at the University. Phone lines are open 8pm-8am every Friday during term time and instant messaging is available 8pm-midnight every Friday night during term time.
